Indonesian Secondary School Students’ Happiness at the Beginning of Covid-19 Pandemic

Happiness is a subjective assessment of individual wellbeing. Adolescents, especially secondary school students living in Islamic Boarding School, experience dramatic changes from learning at their dormitory with face-to-face teaching method to distance home minimum activities outside houses. The survey was conducted on 111 respondents who had return due the outbreaks covid-19 pandemic for two months. research found that made them difficulty adapt new long time while studying independently through learning. Only third sample felt happy during online majority negative emotions such as boredom, unhappiness, and loneliness. adolescents’ life satisfaction community engagement significantly correlated happiness although size effects were medium. Female also lower variables than males. To maintain happiness, pandemic, most prefer mostly trigger sedentary lifestyle.
